This is a hand woven, one of a kind rug made by the Berber Tribe of the BENI OURAIN in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The use of reds and oranges and the pattern of this rug are rather unusual for this Tribe that is better known for it's simple diamond motifs in black and white undyed sheep-wool.

You can recognize a Beni Ourain rug by the double-knots on the backside.
